- Last January you released your new album "Really Nice Guys", that opens with "Rough Mix" that seems like a totally different vibe from your last record, let's start there: tell me about the autotune
- I just figured its really time to get with the times and autotune it up for once!

- The track is recorded in three different ways, lo-fi, live band, and overproduced. Which do you feel more comfortable with?
- I prefer the lo-fi recordings except for the timpani rolls at the end.

- This album came right after your first record. What has inspired you to make a new album so quickly, did you feel the urge to write or did you use tracks that didn't make it to "Heavy Meta?”
- This whole EP was written and conceived in like ten minutes. It was done mostly to make fun of ourselves and make the whole working musician thing digestable.

-Do you have a new album coming out soon or are you ready to decompress and focus on touring?
-New album coming october!

-It's your first time in italy, right? How do you feel about the italian audience, do you think taht it is somehow different touring in Europe from touring in the U.S?
-Yes first time in italy. I dont have any thoughts or feeling about the italian audience yet since we havent met but I imagine they will be wonderful people. I think the biggest difference between touring the US and Europe is feeling like a stranger for once and theres no Wholefoods.

- You're a between Nashville-Philly singer, how do you think the environment you lived in has influenced your work?
- Locationally; not at all. But the internal environment wherever I am has been my biggest influence.

- Your music genre switches between a punk political attitude and a more naive indie rock one. How do you feel about the labels that are often associated with your music and how would you like to call yous music style?
- I guess people will always categorize things based on their own references and things they are familiar with so sometimes it can be funny hearing what other people hear and how drastically different that can be from your intent or context. I think we are definitely creating through some filter or the late 70s punk, new wave, garage, noise, rock and roll yadda yadda but ultimately it doesnt matter its just beds for words.

- Do you think that in todays industry it's even harder than before for a garage lo-fi artist to get their music on the Billboard charts? Is it a genre that is doomed to stay between an underground audience?
-I guess harder if you aspire to get to those places. But for me just making music I really love, and making people happy, or feeling free and me paying rent doing that is all i need, the rest is irrelevant.

- Do you think that your music sounds better recorded or performed? And which do you prefer?
- I think we are very much a thing to take in live.

-We usually conclude by asking who is your current aspiration and if you could give us some suggestions for new music that you feel like we absolutly cant miss out on

- Listen to Parquet Courts new album “Wide Awake”, Twain, Serpentwithfeet, John Coltrane, Erin Rae, Coco Reilly, Post Animal, The Nude Party, Caroline Rose, Naked Giants, Twin Peaks.
